Important Tax Information For Charlotte Firefighters’ Retirement System Retirees
We are providing this information to assist you and/or your tax preparer with filing 2023 tax returns for your pension benefit payments. This is not legal tax advice but simply an attempt to make you aware of the various considerations for your filing. Any questions related to your specific tax filing should be directed to a professional tax advisor.
PLEASE NOTE: You should have received your 1099-R tax reporting form for your 2023 benefit payments from U.S. Bank-ITC Services on behalf of the Charlotte Firefighters’ Retirement System. If you have not received your form, please contact U.S. Bank at 800-843-2399 for a replacement copy or log into your account with the U.S. Bank retiree portal to obtain a copy.
Reminder: April Pay Dates
Monday, April 15, 2024
Tuesday, April 30, 2024
***Changes made on the U.S. Bank Retiree Portal before April 8th will be effective for the
April 15th payment.
Changes made on the U.S. Bank Retiree Portal between April 9th and April 23rd will be effective for the April 30th payment.
Direct deposit funds from U.S. Bank are payable on the 15th and the last day of each month.
Financial institutions may differ and your personal bank may not post funds for availability
until the next business day following a weekend or holiday.
CFRS Committee Meetings – April Schedule
The CFRS Benefits Committee will hold its monthly meeting on
Thursday, April 11, 2024 at 8:00 a.m.
The CFRS Investment Committee will hold its monthly meeting on
Thursday, April 18, 2024 at 8:00 a.m.
The CFRS Board of Trustees will hold its quarterly meeting on
Thursday, April 25, 2024 at 8:00 a.m.

the meeting date, time and venue since these are subject to change.
