Located on Main St. beside the town hall in Locust.

The Charlotte-Mecklenburg Fire Museum and Education Center exists to preserve the history of the Charlotte Fire Department and the other fire departments in Mecklenburg County. We also are an organization that may assist in fire education efforts. As we move forward to become a virtual museum, we are in need of forming committees that are charged with performing duties that include but are not limited to:

Collection management
-
History Project
-
Technology (website, social media, etc.)

Single day volunteer opportunities

Research and reporting of various history topics
If any of these subjects interest you or you have been already working on an idea that aligns with the goals of the Fire Museum, please let us know your willingness to help at firemuseum@ci.charlotte.nc.us. This is open to all and are volunteer opportunities only.

School Supply Collection
Charlotte Fire is partnering with WSOC-TV and Classroom Central. From July 12 – August 31, CFD firehouses will be the collection points where the community can donate NEW school supplies for children in the area. The school supplies will be distributed free by Classroom Central.
