As previously announced, The CFRS office sustained massive damage from flooding due to an act of vandalism on April 5, 2025.
The CFRS office is expected to be closed for 9 months, or more, as the cleanup, destruction and eventual reconstruction occurs.
Staff will be working remotely to ensure that the day-to-day operations continue. Consequently, for active members, this will mean that any appointments with staff will be handled via teleconference or virtually through Microsoft Teams. Staff is reaching out to the members who are scheduled to provide one of the alternative options.
For retirees, the USBank portal remains closed but a relaunch is being planned for the near future. Please watch for information later this month as it becomes available. In the meantime, to make changes to your address, direct deposit or tax information, you may contact USBank directly at 1-800-843-2399 for the change form and mail the form back to USBank, or you may contact the CFRS office and request the form and return to the CFRS office via email or USMail. Our email address is CFRS@charlottenc.gov. Please do not provide your full Social Security Number on the form when using email.
